Governing Body Meetings

Please note that dates, times or venues of meetings may change at short notice. If you are planning to attend, please check this website for confirmation of the time, date and venue in the published agenda of the meeting, or contact the Corporate Affairs Team on 01952 580300.

Agenda papers for all meetings will be published to this page at least five days before the meeting. The CCG no longer issues hard copies of the papers, only printed copies of the agenda will be provided at the meeting. The decision to move towards a paperless system has been taken to ensure that the CCG continues to ensure best use of resources and a commitment to promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly working practices.

The meetings are held in public to enable the public to observe the decision making process. To assist in the management of the agenda and meeting, we request that all questions are made in writing at least 48 hours prior to the Governing Body meeting.  These can be submitted either by email or post, as follows:

Questions received from the public should be pertinent to the commissioning of services for the local population of Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin. They should be relevant to the agenda of the next Governing Body meeting. If you have any pecuniary interest in the subject of the question, this should be declared. Complex questions or those which require particular research, or data retrieval or analysis, may be deferred, or dependent on the detail of the information required, may need to be submitted as a Freedom of Information (FOI) request or a Subject Access Request (SAR).

Grounds for not accepting public questions include, but are not limited to:
•  It would prove too expensive or would take too much staff resource to deal with the question.
•  The question is vexatious.
•  The question has previously been answered by the CCG in the last six months and placed in the public domain.
•  The answer could prejudice a criminal investigation or commercial confidentiality.
•  The answer relates to personal data, which if released would be contrary to the Data Protection Act.
•  The decision of the Chair of the Governing Bodies meetings in common on whether to accept a question, and how it should be answered, is final.

(A hearing loop system can be made available, upon prior request, to members of the public with hearing difficulties. Please contact the CCG at least 48 hours prior to the meeting).   

The Governing Body may also be required to hold a private meeting on the same day and has resolved that representatives of the press and other members of the public be excluded from this meeting having regard to the confidential nature of the business to be transacted, publicity of which would be prejudicial to the public interest (section 1(2) Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings Act 1960)).
