A message from Kerry Robinson, Senior Responsible Officer for the MSK Transformation Programme:
“Work to transform our MSK services in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, although slowed in response to the immense pressures faced by our health and care system, remains a key priority for us.
“Although we haven’t been able to make the progress we wanted as quickly as we had hoped, the programme teams and staff involved have continued to work incredibly hard to keep things moving.
“It’s the first time we have attempted such a significant system transformation programme which involves so many partners.
“It has involved each of us managing our own organisational priorities, understanding the pressures and challenges we all face, and coming together to agree one shared vision for MSK. This has been no easy feat!
“A lot of the work to build up to the launch of the new model has already been completed. This has included listening to feedback and views, understanding and planning what is needed for the referral centre and the therapy and triage services, such as the staffing need, operational hours, and the digital systems.
“This has been really challenging given the unrelenting demands on people’s time so to get this far is a phenomenal achievement and we still have more to do.
“On behalf of the MSK Transformation Board, I would like to offer a huge thank you to every single person working in our MSK services and everyone who has contributed to the programme for their support and patience.
“As the programme moves forward we will keep you updated but I would encourage staff to please speak to their line manager if they have any questions in the meantime.”
