Next steps for the NHS blood taking services in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin

14 April 2021

As part of the work to improve blood taking services in the county, NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) recently conducted a comprehensive engagement exercise to gather patient and public feedback.

The survey for the phlebotomy services received over 3,500 responses, and more than 3,000 individual comments, plus eight focus groups were conducted to gather more in-depth feedback.

The findings are currently being analysed and a report will be produced shortly to summarise the information. The outcome of this will be used to help commissioners and clinicians within the local health system to identify improved ways to deliver blood taking services.

It is anticipated that these service options will be identified by September 2021.

NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin CCG would like to thank everyone who took the time to either join a focus group or complete the survey as the feedback will be integral in shaping the next steps for the blood taking services in the county.”
